Who Answers?

Each month, In the Rooms and Seeking Integrity Treatment Centers present an online Super Saturday Recovery Summit. These events have proven to be an overwhelming success. Three experts on recovery discuss and answer questions on topics related to both early and longer-term sobriety and healing.

Our next Super Saturday Recovery Summit is set for Saturday, April 17. Presenters at this month’s summit include three relationship experts: Eddie Capparucci, Alyson Nerenberg, and Jonathan Taylor. All three speakers will focus on how recovering addicts can build healthy relationships.

Eddie Capparucci, 1 p.m. Eastern

Blind Spots: How They Serve as a Barrier for Addicts Looking to Build Intimate Relationships

Eddie Capparucci is a licensed therapist in the State of Georgia. He and his wife, Teri, have a private practice working with men struggling with sexual and pornography addictions. They also work with their wives and partners who are dealing with betrayal. Among his many clients, Eddie has worked with professional athletes including NFL and MLB players and television personalities. He is the author of Going Deeper: How the Inner Child Impacts Your Sexual Addiction and Removing Your Shame Label: Learning to Break Free of Shame and Feel God’s Love. His SSRS presentation will look at how addicts’ blind spots tend to sabotage healthy relationships.

Alyson Nerenberg, 3 p.m. Eastern

Letting Go of the Illusion of Perfection in Relationships

Alyson Nerenberg is a Philadelphia area therapist specializing in addictions and relationships. She is currently in the process of publishing her first book, “Letting Go of the Illusion of Perfection in Our Relationships.” This is also the topic of her SSRS presentation. She notes that perfect couples do not exist. Nor do perfect families. The good news is that working through the difficult places in our primary romantic partnerships is what helps us grow. Once we let go of shame and our tendency to strive for perfectionism, we are far more likely to have authenticity and a deep genuine connection.

Jonathan Taylor, 5 p.m. Eastern

Rocking Relationships in Recovery

Jon Taylor is the owner of White Pine Recovery, an outpatient addiction treatment center near Salt Lake City, Utah. He specializes in and has extensive training in sexual addiction, relationship issues, and the treatment of complex trauma. In addition to weekly work with individuals and couples, he is a proud facilitator of Ken Adam’s Mother-Enmeshed Men Workshop. He also works with men and couples who are learning to separate from relationships. In his SSRS presentation, Jon will speak about how addicts and loved ones of addicts can work both individually and together while in a process of recovery.
