About San Juan Capestrano Hospital

San Juan Capestrano Hospital is a premier provider of inpatient and outpatient mental health and addiction treatment. Our main location is in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, but we also offer services at nine other locations throughout the island, including Bayamon, Caguas, Carolina, Hatillo, Humacao, Manati, Mayayguez, Naguabo, and Ponce. Our inpatient program is designed to provide treatment for individuals who need acute care for addiction or mental health concerns. We offer separate programs for adolescents and adults, and the typical length of stay in this program is between five and seven days. Our partial hospitalization programs (PHPs) are also separated for adolescents and adults and provide care for individuals who need daylong, structured treatment but do not require the round-the-clock care offered in an inpatient setting. Our intensive outpatient program offers treatment for adults who are struggling with addictions specifically. Patients in our IOP typically receive individual therapy at least twice each week and family therapy a minimum of once during their stay.
