How to upload your picture

1) From your profile page, click on "Edit Profile"
2) Click on the "Picture" Link
3) Click the "browse" button and select a picture from your = computer
4) Click the "save" button
5) Click on the "Profile" Link in the top bar to see your = picture on your profile.

How to fill out your profile

1) From your profile page, click on "Edit Profile"
2) Fill out your personal information.  On the right side, you will = see buttons that allow you to show or hide certain information on your profile.  For Instance, if I dont want other people seeing my last = name, i'll click on the "only me" button, the far right button corresponding to the "last name" field.  If I choose = "My Friends", only people on the site that are added as my friends can = see that information. If everyone is selected, everyone on the site can see = that information.  No one can see your information at all if they are = not a member of InTheRooms.com.
3) Once you've completed this step, click on the "Next" button = at the bottom of that page.
4) Continue this process until your profile is complete.
5) Take note: when filling out the "About" section, spearate = your hobbies, interests, etc. by commas.  This will allow you to find = people with similar interests on the site.

Things To Remember when = Filling out your Profile

• Become = part of the group: Uploading your picture is very important and = helps your friends find you easily.  You can upload a profile picture by choosing "Edit Profile" on your profile page, and then = clicking on the "Picture" Link.
• Find = people with similar interests: When filling out your profile = descriptions, be sure to put a comma in between your interests, so that way you = can easily find other members with similar interests, right from your = own profile.  An example would be, instead of writing "I like = to go skiing and horseback riding" you would write "skiing, = horseback riding".  This is not required, however it will make your experience more rewarding.
• Share = with the group: In the speaker tapes library, you can add tags to = tapes you have listened to, in order to help others find what they're = looking for.  You can also click on the title of the speaker tape, and = start a discussion related to that tape.  If you have a favorite = speaker tape of your own, you can upload it to the community and share it = with all of your friends.
• Keep our = community clean: Any comments on the site can be flagged as inappropriate.  Just put your mouse over the comment and click = on the red flag, and the site administrator will look into it.  = (Please flag with spiritual intentions only.)

How to create a group

1) Click on "Groups" in the top menu bar
2) Click on "Create new group"
3) Fill out the new group form. Choose a name for your group, a category, and write a short description about the group.
4) Select the group privacy option: an open group means anyone can join, a closed group means you have to approve members (you will recieve a notification that someone has requested to join your group), and a hidden group means that no one can see the group, and only you can invite members to join (this is done from the group's page once it is created).
5) Select group settings - you can choose what kind of functionality your group members can have in the group.
6) upload picture: click the "browse" button, and select a picture from your computer.
7) Click the "Create" button.
8) You now have created a group. You can access the group from your profile in the "Groups" tab, or from the main "Groups" page by clicking "Groups" on the top menu bar.

How to search for friends

1) Click the "Browse" button on the top menu bar.
2) From here, you can browse through all the profiles, or filter the list to find people in your area.
3) Click on a person's picture to see their limited profile.
4) Once you've found someone you'd like to be friends with, click on the "Add Friend" button on their profile. This will send them an email letting them know they have been requested to be your friend.
Once they log in and approve you as their friend, they will show up on your profile in the "Friends" tab.
5) Another way of finding friends is to click on a current friend in the "Friends" tab of your profile, and look at other people's friends.
